Question: Can "Gurus" be members of www.TrustedGurus.com and vote for themselves?

Answer: Gurus can be members, but they are not allowed to be Voting Members. Gurus are invited to join the site as Guru Members and clearly identify themselves as Information Marketers.

The reason for this is if they are in the Information Marketing industry, their opinion could be biased because of Joint Ventures or other business deals with other information marketers.

Our mission with this website is to provide "unbiased, uncompensated reviews of Information Gurus we trust."

It's hard for an Information Marketer to toot their own horn without sounding biased.

That's why everyone uses testimonials. Problem is, those testimonials might not be representative or unbiased. They could be compensated.

They could even be made-up testimonials. (Gasp! You mean...Barbara H. from Atlanta, GA might not be a real person?) That's right, some of the testimonials are actually not real people, or they might be relatives or friends or even paid for their testimony in products or even money. Shocking, isn't it?

So, to avoid even the very appearance of being biased, we don't allow Gurus to vote for themselves or their buddies. But they can be Guru Members and share their opinions that way.
